I think Haas himself pointed to the fact that he may not be doing the gigs.

But the Baked Potato still has him on the schedual for wed and thurs (3rd and 4th) for August.

Maybe a call to Justin may answer your question.

I was there last nite. It was a great show. I'm not that into Jeff's compositions, and both he and Haslip were occasionally lost because of Hass' killer over the bar line playing. They were all laughing about it, it was a fun show. Mike Miller is an amazing guitar player, and Hass played his ass off in this fusion setting that I never get to hear him in. I chose the first night because tonight's $25 with Dave.

I have NEVER enjoyed hearing Jeff Richman OR his music. I don't know how he gets such great players to work with him. He must pay well.

Mike Miller on the other hand is a MONSTER player AND composer. Damn, I should have gone just to see him.

DSOP your Jeff Richman comment makes my Haslip/Ferrante comment appear as a compliment. Not very nice. Those musicians play with him for a reason, and I doubt that it's financial. Hass has amazing profile gigs, and Haslip. Well you know about Haslip, he's done very well with TV and the Jackets. They do not need the $$.

Mike Miller's work with Chick Corea is wonderful. I would have gone to see the interaction between Miller and Hass. However, I'm stuck here in NY for a while.

I was hoping to go to both shows, but ended up working late last night and tonight. I really wanted to see Steve Hass play.

Jeff's playing leaves me sometimes with a crooked face. My old roomate Dave Karisony used to play for him, was on one of his old albums. We both went to San Fran to see Karasony play with Jeff and Ernie Watts. Now thats an amazing horn player!!! Karasony used to tell me that Jeff would mess up playing his own charts. I Didn't really notice it until he said that. No big deal. I do like his music and progressive grooves. But he's no Mike Miller, thats for sure.

Funny.... Weckl stopped by the shop today with his daughter claire. I asked him if he wanted to check out Hass with me, he said "who"?? I guess he doesn't know who he is.

Goes to show you..... so many people in this business, all great players that somtimes may have never heard of each other.
